September 20, 2007 Clementine announces the opening of two exhibitions of new works on paper:
Billy Malone in the Main Gallery and Lordy Rodriguez in the North Gallery. Both shows will run from October 11-November 17, 2007. A reception for the public will be held on Thursday, October 11, from 6-8 PM.
In the North Gallery, Lordy Rodriguez will present two large-scale diptych ink on paper works depicting the polar ice caps. Rodriguez continues his exploration of topographies both real and imagined in the form of hand-drawn maps. For this exhibition, he chooses to focus specifically on the polar ice caps, given their relevance to the issues surrounding the popular topic of global warming.
This will be Lordy Rodriguez’s fourth solo exhibition at Clementine. His work is currently featured in the Istanbul Biennial.
