Clementine announces the opening of James Benjamin Franklin, Sub-Tippy , in the North Gallery. The show will run from January 10, 2008 - February 16, 2008 . A reception for the public will be held on Thursday, January 10, from 6-8 PM .

Franklin will present several new flashe and resin paintings. Beneath their glossy surfaces, Franklin's spare, nondescript spaces allow the psyche of his anatomically awkward figures to take center stage. More than detached portrayals of banal situations, his works are intimate looks at psychological self-explorations of character. Through unclear circumstances and pictorial riddles, the viewer is invited to discern his own interpretation of the idiosyncrasy of human behavior.

This is Franklin's second solo exhibition at Clementine. His work has been recently seen in Phantasmania at the Kemper Museum in Missouri, as well as in the New York Times Magazine .

James Benjamin Franklin's Sub-Tippy will be on view during regular gallery hours, Tuesday - Saturday, 11- 6 PM and by appointment. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact the gallery at 212.243.5937 or email us at: clemgal@clementine-gallery.com .
