Clementine Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Billy Malone, "Tanasitease". The shows will run from January 12-February 4, 2006. A reception for the public will be held on Thursday, January 12, 6-8 pm. Please note, this will be Clementine's inaugural exhibition in its NEW LOCATION at 623 West 27th Street, between 11th and 12th Avenues.

Billy Malone will have his New York solo debut with an exhibition of new ballpoint pen drawings in the project gallery. Inspired by the Tennessee landscape where he grew up, Malone meticulously renders fictional structures of plywood and nails, adorned with an array of accoutrements like smoke alarms, dream catchers, and Christmas lights. This so-called “hillbilly modernist architecture” has a playful quality which is tempered by the obvious patience with which they are drawn.

Billy Malone will be on view during regular gallery hours, Tuesday- Saturday, 11- 6 p.m. and by appointment. For further information and reproductions, please do not hesitate to contact the gallery at 212.243.5937.
